Seargent Ivri Dickstein z"l h"yd 21 years old Golani.

Fell in battle while defending Israel from Hizbollah terorists in Southern Lebanon.

His young wife Miriam was waiting for him at home in Elazar Gush Etzion. The flowers and chocolates he preordered to be sent to her for Shabbos arrived after his funeral. The attached note was signed "I love you forever"

Leadership was his way of life with modesty and considration. He rose in the ranks and was a respected commander.

His father who fought in Gaza and was wounded only to return to battle spoke of the total service to protect the homeland of the jewish people realizing the sacrifice is for it's survival and security.

 

Her voice cracking, his grandmother recalled that she took him to the synagogue and they asked him: "How old are you?"

"Three"  "and what is your name?"  "Ivri"  "What does that mean?" 

With three year old certainty he proclaimed: "Ivri is a Jew that has to protect his country"
